KiCad projects

Open KiCad projects in the browser

Looking for KiCad online? Open a KiCad schematic and board in NOMOREDA and keep editing them here. Download a project copy when you want one.

Prepare the project files

The account workspace's Import KiCad project dialog accepts one project ZIP or a selection of individual native files. A project import needs exactly one PCB file and at least one schematic file. Include the schematic's child sheets and the supporting files the project uses.

Files the project importer accepts
FileWhat to include
.kicad_schAt least one schematic, including child-sheet files for a hierarchical design.
.kicad_pcbExactly one board file.
.kicad_proOptional project settings; at most one file.
.kicad_druOptional custom design rules; at most one file.
Local librariesInclude the local .kicad_sym and .kicad_mod files and their sym-lib-table or fp-lib-table. A project ZIP can preserve the resource folders.

The account importer allows up to 128 project files and a 64 MiB total selection. A ZIP also has a 64 MiB expanded limit. Keep filenames unique, including letter case. Review the selected file list and any import warnings before editing.

Using a temporary workspace? The homepage's guest file picker accepts individual .kicad_sch, .kicad_pcb, .kicad_pro, and .kicad_dru files. Sign in to use the account import dialog for a project ZIP and supporting local libraries.

Inspect the design after import

Open the schematic and board documents and compare them with your original design. Check that the expected sheets, symbols, footprints, nets, and board layers are present. Review local library references, custom rules, and resources that are not in the project files.

NOMOREDA edits these project files in the browser. Support varies by object and operation; a browser edit does not promise every object or identical behavior for every project. Keep an independent copy of the original files.

If you want to learn the interface before importing your own design, the ECC83 example includes a schematic, board, and project settings.

Download a project copy

  1. Finish and review your edits

Wait for any pending project changes to finish. Review the schematic and board, and keep a saved version when you need a checkpoint.

  2. Download the project

Use Export project (.zip). The archive contains the schematic, PCB, and project settings. Export current document only downloads the active document instead of the whole project.

  3. Keep the copy

The ZIP is a copy of the project. Review the files and run the checks you need before making hardware.

A download is a copy of the project. It does not establish manufacturing readiness, component suitability, or electrical safety.

Continue your workflow

KiCad is a separate project. Product names identify the supported file format; no endorsement by KiCad is implied.
